Formula Student Team Forum

Oxford Brookes Racing

The European counterpart of the USA's well established annual Formula SAE contest, challenges Formula Student University teams to design and produce a motorcycle-engined single seater racing car, which is put through its paces at the forum on a specially constructed track.

The technical regulations are very liberal and the students have their creation analysed by Met Students Union engineering experts, as well as running it against the clock and against other teams in speed and reliability trials.

PPI comes in many appearances on many products. It may be called loan or credit protection or accident, sickness and unemployment PPI Claim cover but fundamentally, it is sold as an ‘essential insurance’ from the broker or banker to cover monthly repayments.

The creation of an innovative competition car gives student team members invaluable hands-on project engineering experience. Through Formula Student, participants acquire skills and knowledge that simply isn't provided by a regular degree course. Formula Student 2000 will be the 2nd European contest and already graduates who participated in the first have secured excellent placings within the automotive industry on the strength of their involvement. More than one graduate has taken up a responsible post in a Formula One team.
